Hey guys, Does anyone know where I might be able to find engine mods for the 4.7. For example, Intake mainifold, Heads, Valve covers, Pullies. Im loking for performance upgrades and engine dress up parts. Make it go fast and look nice at the same time. Mopar seems to favor the 5.9 when it comes to this sort of thing.

Any help would be nice, Thanks

Hey Tom, the ONLY place I've found with working performance parts for the 4.7 is KRC Performance. Other people have K&N and useless throttle body spacers, etc. But if you are looking for real performance gains, KRC's got the parts.
Please let ME know if you find any dress up parts. I'm interested in getting rid of that big plastic resonator that sits in front of the TB. I had it off to do the cams swap and the motor looks pretty nice even stock (when you can see it)with the aluminum heater hoses, magnesium valve covers, etc. I'd love to find some chrome pulleys, even nicer looking valve covers and any other dress ups too.
BTW, it's not as easy to eliminate the resonator as simply taking it off and clamping a K&N filter right on the throttle body. The IAT sensor is 1/4 turned into the resonator and the pcv hose needs a place to connect. Anybody know if the resonator serves any purpose other than making the right turn off the TB and holding the IAT sensor (and blocking view of the motor)?

all you have to do is buy a iat sensor from a 00 dakota 4.7 it will be a thread type sensor that way no need to lock and load, just thread and go. i have taken my resonator off, for the summer time i run a air raid filter, 720-440 right off the tb with the iat sensor right behind it. and for winter i put in my stock airbox, and put the iat back in the manifold.

You gotta ask yourself one question...That Thing Got A HEMI???

I guess to each his own.

I personally think that the Magnesium alloy valve covers, on the 4.7, SOHC engine, look awesome! I for one wouldn't want to change such a high tech part.

So far the only intake manifolds, are the HO form a jeep, which come on the later 2003's and up anyway.

Tnjones,

Wow, you did the HO cam swap, and still are running the stock air intake system? Good for you, there's really not much gains from modding that anyway, but just about everybody, (including me, with my homebrew intake), does anyway. ON the 2001 4.7, the crank case breather can be put anywhere along the system away from the TB.

PCV, at least on my 03, is routed from the oil filler tube neck to the rear of the intake manifold. I kept the stock resonator, and ran my IP PowerShot off that to get the filter farther towards the front pass. corner of the engine bay for cooler air. the resonator also helps with throttle pedal vibration that results from opening up the intake with aftermarket air intakes, TBs, and such. No noticeable power gains/losses from removing/replacing the resonator. Plus now I can put VTEC/GT/SRT/HO stickers on the airhat for increased hp!
