 Subject: trouble code

ok,my service light is on and the code P 0442 comes up.ive been told that its probably my gas cap,checked it,and it was loose.i tightened it,the code never went away.i reset my pcm,the code went away and came back the next day.anyone have any ideas of what the problem is?i dont want to take it to the dealer because the people i know who have done that have nothing but trouble rying to fight over warranty with them,and the dealers tried charging them alot for small problems!

for the few bucks it costs, simply replace your cap and avoid the dealer bs.just go into the parts department and tell them some clown stole it.
