Just a question for the performance minded owners. I just bought a 99 3.9 5speed dakota std. cab. And i was wondering were to find info on the "nx" nitrous kit. Also i would like to mention i have raced and beat a 4.0l ranger, a 2.2 s10, and also a thunderbird sc by my suprise my truck is by far not slow, but i need more performance than 175hp!Right now i have in mind to by a set of higher ratio roller rockers but not sure if i should get 1.5 or 1.6? also a supercharger would be nice but is it offered for 3.9?

David,

First and foremost, just bolting on a Nitrous Kit won't help as much. You'll need to have the beneficial "bolt ons" to match/enhance the performance of the Nitrous. This means getting the air in and out more efficiently. Cold Air Intake, Throttle Body, Headers, and Exhaust system at minimum.

I ran the NX kit for the '97-'99 3.9L with excellent results - 231RWHP and 381RWTQ on the Dyno. (That's a snotload of fun!!!) However, Intake, Exhaust, and Ignition modifications were required to take advantage of the kit.

On the roller rockers, the 1.6:1 is the factory ratio and I run the 1.6:1 Crower Rollers now for almost two years. The 1.7:1 Crowers require the removal of the internal oil baffles for clearance. Not a problem to remove them though.

Again...with the 1.6:1 or 1.7:1 Rollers, concentrate on the basics first...air IN, air OUT.
