Newbie here. What I have:

2003 4.7 Durango, all stock.

What I want to do:

1. 360airintakez powershot intake system--- $170.00
2. Kenne Bell Optimizerll--2 w/160 degree thermostat-- 358.00
3. JBA Headers--- 900.00*
4. GSMotorsports true dual (2 1/2) exhaust w/cats and the loud mufflers (from their site)--- 750.00
5. Am I missing anything??
6. Total of $2178.00 in mods w/out labor.

*Should I leave out the headers? Because from what I read on this site, the stock exhaust manifold is supposed to be pretty good.

My goal is to keep the internals as stock as possible. It is a daily driver.

This site has been a wealth of information and after going through hours and hours of archives, the list above is what I came up with. I am very open to suggestions and comments.

Another question is, with that exhaust system, will I be able to get the tailpipes to exit to the side, in back, of each rear tire? I like that look.

Thanks everyone in advance.

Bronks,

That's some great research and it all sounds good.

If you were going to do this all at once, you may consider saving some extra and just get a SuperCharger also. I haven't yet, and probably won't, since My Quad is also my sailboat pulling, family trip hauling, family sedan as well.

Keep us posted what you decide to do. It's all good.

I have the GS motorsports exhaust and you can get either a rear exit or a side exit. The side exit is on one side in front of the tire. You may want to consider getting the street mufflers because even they are pretty loud. I would stay with the stock headers too.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the replys.

Eventually I will go the distance with cams and a SCer, etc. But for now, I just want her breathing right. The hardest decision for me is deciding which intake system to use. K&N, Intenseperformance, Air Raid, or 360air. Sheeze...decisions, decisions. I'll take a little help on this one. :)

I think the best kind of CAI is one that routes the filter outside the engine compartment. I'm not sure which manufacturers do this. Somenone on this site was selling some a while back. Kenne Bell used to sell a cold air intake like that. I know the one that comes with their s/c runs the filter down behind the front bumper.
