Subject: H.O. Intake/Cam Question

Message:
I plan on putting in the H.O. Cam and Intake, I already have a K&N FIPK2 Intake, so is it necessary to have the HO intake to get the most out of this setup? Or should I just get the cams and be done with it?

Mr. Sleepy, asleep again?

that K&N, you spent all that money on, looks good. But it's a psuedo CAI = cold air intake, and goes on the TB=throttle body.

the HO intake, is an intake manifold, the plenum, with the runners, that bolts to the heads!

Now, still wonder about that question?

The Ho intake manifold help with the horse power in the upper RPM levels. If you put in the cams i would also do the intake manifold as well, unless you do alot of towing. It would also be beneficial to get a larger throttle body after the intall of the cams and manifold. Tt'll help put all of your mods together.

Once again you guys very helpful. Texas, thanks for clearing that up, and yes, I do most of my posting early in the morning, so im still quite sleepy. Black, thanks for the tips and I'll see what I can do for pricing.

Will the Manifold do much for my setup without the cams? I understand the cams can cause a rougher idle and I'm not sure If I want that.

Most of the gain comes from the cams. Mine still idles smooth with the cams, not sure where you got that idea. Could be an issue with more radical cams, but doesn't seem to be with the HOs.

in the past i have heard of people getting the cams for about 55 each. Since then the prices have gone up. I just decided to get the parts from www.buymopar.com I had my dealer do the entire install too. I've had the cams in since last march. To my hearing, i thought there was a slight change in idle tone. For the better that is. I could be wrong.
