Larry, I have a general sort of mod question for you. If I install twin remote oil filters on my Dak do I want the filters to be higher or lower that the factory location? My gut tells me lower to prevent drain back but I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks.

I'm not Larry, but I assume your talking about the Amsoil Bypass system and it's my understanding that it really doesn't matter where you locate your filters... Infact most people put them up on the fender wall under the hood or right behind the radiator, front bumper, or else where for easy access... I personally would put them around the drain plug or under the truck somewhere that way you could access them easier for oil changes, but then again, you aren't actually changing your oil but every 10 to 20,000 miles, so in that case the easy access under the hood might prove to be better...

Most oil filters come with drain back protection valves or rather a little rubber flap that closes to where your oil can't run back out of them after engine shutt off... Nearly ALL oil filters now have these built into them and I'm sure even Amsoil's stock replacement oil filters "longer and better filtering regular oil filter" have this built into them as well...

I don't know about the oil lines though and you might want to wait on Larry for this answer...

Sorry if I wasn't any help, but you can go to Amsoil's website if you like and read post about where they located the oil filters and most "9 out of 10" are under the hood for easy access durring filter swaps... That way all you do is pop the hood, swap filters, fill up to full, then drive without getting under the vehicle I guess :/
