I've read on a couple of posts here that if I were to get the 26x11.5 for 15" rims that the rim had to be 10" wide. Recently, I've had someone tell me in person that an 8" rim can hold the tire as long as the tread width is 9.9 or under. If this is true, the the 15x8 dakota rims should be able to hold the 26x11.5 since it's tread width is 9.8. Is this correct, will it work or not?

You can run 11.5s on your 15x8 rims.. No problem.

for best results you should not go less than 1 inch narower than your rim, but it will work.
