How do you know it's a Cummins?

That would be a lot of work to remove the V8 Desiel to install a Cummins. It was probably a modified Powerstroke V8. Those things can be built up to ya know.

Nice run tho. Holy sheep sh*t that guy in the car surely shat himself when he saw that HUGE truck pull away like that!

I bet that guy has some fun on the street with that truck. That's a stock Vette/Viper killer!

Is that guys time calculated after he crosses the start line? It looks like he left the line a good half a second after the rx-7. Man, that would be fun to have that thing for a day and go trolling for rice.

Hmm... interesting. Wonder why he didn't just use a Dodge Ram? That's blasphemy to swap makes in trucks LOL!

Plus, he musta switched tranny's, computers, etc.

As far as the race goes, he probably got a green light a second behind the other car based on qualifying to "even things up" which of course obviously didn't matter.
No matter what's under the hood, I;d LOVE to have a truck like that. I could only IMAGINE racing some stupid Ricer at a light and totally KILLING his a$$ like that. Most Ricers are only 15 to 17 second cars anyway. Wouldn't be close!

Thats nice. My father has a 99 f350 daully, before he put a different intake system to the intercooler on it and what it he dynoed at 356hp and 810ft lbs at the ground, on a stock tranny. Thats with very few mods done, a banks tow chip. I have a friend who has a 99 civic with 150 shot on it. Father ate him up till he hit 92 (which is where his speed limiter cuts him off) None of the cummings,fords, ricers etc. Can touch him off the line and barely catch him untill he hits 92. He hits the speed limiter before the 1/4 is up.

smoht, Your fathers truck is not running 356 HP with just a chip. The most I've ever seen a powerstroke 7.3 with just a chip is around 320 hp and 660 torque, you need injectors to get over that, then drugs.

That f350 above goes by MADDOG. he has broken 11.2 @ 120 MPH. This weekend he will be trying to get into the 10's. This truck is running well over 800 HP, on #2 only and weighs 7200 pounds.

The Cummins is used due to the stout lower end and being able to push/pump gobs of fuel to it.

Damn, thats too far for me to drive Cummins Man. Sounds like one hell of a shootout though. I haven't been to a drag race in about 14 years and I am really itching to see/smell one again. BTW, I drive a Ram CTD as well and I would love to bomb it but it has most the warranty left and those repair bills for the diesels look pretty spendy.

What year do you have? Do you have auto or manual?

If you have pre 98.5 there are a few things you can do at no cost to give you about 50 hp.

If you have a 98.5 to 2002 you can add a box that can be removed before you take it in for service. Both of the above you will have to add EGT and boost guages.

You should check out the TDR www.turbodieselregister.com It costs $35.00 a year, but you get a quartely magazine, and the best CTD world has to offer.

I have an '04 2500 48re auto 4x4 with the HO engine. I've have less than 3000 miles on it yet. I don't have any guages yet so EGT and boost as you mentioned will be my concerns as well. This is bone stock right now. I am pretty happy with the power but a little more would always be nice :) I am a little concerned about the tranny's longevity if I mod it but I think 50 or so extra horses shouldn't hurt it much. Thanks for the TDR link.

powerstrokes can run too cummins man My 00 f250 is running 110's in the 1/4. I am running a ATI 3000 series turbo with higher psi boots right now i am at 31 psi on the boost. It has a propane injection that is progressive. I have linked to the tps so that at full throttle and over 1200 rmp the max shot is a 200hp propane shot. after market down tube and exhaust custom flashed chip aftermarket multi shot injectors, liquid to air intercooler that runs liquid nitrogen for colder air temps. misting system to try and keep exhaust temps down. That is my biggest problem I cant keep the exhaust temps under 1500 in 1 run. Does any know what his exhaust temps is hitting?? all that smoke means heat in a diesel so he has to be hot too. I soon hope to be where he is
