About two years ago I bought a 93 Dakota with a Towing Package and a 3.9L engine. I found out that this truck had a lot more power than I thought it did. It has 162,00 miles and it peels the tires when I hit second gear under full acceleration. I have beaten quite a few Camaro's and Mustangs with it.

Can anyone tell me the stock torque and horsepower ratings this thing came with? We beleive it is all stock, but it seems to be a little too powerful for a stock 3.9. Thanks

Whats your secret? Hmm...were those 4 cyl. Stangs and V6 Camaro's? I think the 93's were the same as the 94's. 175 hp's and 230 lbs./ft. I know that the 93's a little bit bigger cam and exhaust than the 94's. These are nice trucks, but the V6's defenitly ain't no race motor.

5.0 Mustangs, not the 1990 newer models, but hey. And I have taken a v-6, 305, and 350 Camaro

What a clown... As a driver of both a 5.0 Mustang and a v6 Dakota I will tell you what is happening when you "beat" a Camaro or Mustang. The other guy is not even trying. Personally I don't even bother to downshift when some truck or Civic pulls next to me. My 'stang is stock and still can't be touched by any v6 unless it has a huge turbo or nitrous or both.. Many times I am not expecting whatever slow car to even try and they take off so I say Hell with it and punch it, but they already have about a one second jump which is all some of the faster cars need. The v6 Dakota's do feel a lot faster than they are though so I know what you mean. As a matter of fact the old body style feels faster than the new body style? Oh well..

The old body style is about 500lbs lighter than the new.

500 lbs?! They look smaller though. Are they
making them out of lead now?

You think the new body style looks smaller? The doors alone dwarf the old ones. Everything about them is bigger except the engine hence the slower et's.
