$350 shipped, that's less than I have found these parts for not including shipping. They are new, still in the box as stated above.

HO Cams AND intake?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 03 dakota 4X4 cc with a volant air intake and a magnaflow muffler and am looking to get the HO cams and possible intake manifold. My 03 doesnt have the factory HO intake. I searched all the threads on this subject and it seems that some believe the intake manifold is a waste of money, some say it isnt. I would get it if I could be assured I wouldnt lose the low end torque I gain from the cam. Can anyone honestly tell me exactly what the intake will do for me. Thanks

Dustin,

I did the cams, many months before I did the HO manifold on my 01, QC, 5spd,...

As you, I researched it and almost didn't install them for this very same reason about the loss of low end torque.

Then, .alex., who posts here often, posted dyno with the separate mods, and he basically came to the conclusion, that the loss in low end torque is a myth. It moves the band over some, but it gets a great kick in the pants above 6K. I still have yet to do any PCM mods, like the KB OP 2 flash, to really gain the potential.

I basically use my SLT QC, like a family car, that tows my 20ft, catamaran sailboat and equipment trailer in style, and is fast as hell, for a next to stock Quad cab. I rarely ever take mine over 3.5 to 4 K, just cruising, but it's great knowing it's there!

HOpe this helps

I missed that dyno posting, but it doesn't seem to me that dyno pulls typically register results at that low a rpm to show low rpm loss of torque from the HO manifold.

Steve, most likely not smog legal. Will they pass? Probably.

If you swap them, just keep the stockers-- the install isn't too bad. You'll have 3-4 years before you have to smog anyway.
