I installed the KB SC on my truck about a week ago and now its throwing code 161: Oxygen sensor heater element not working properly (this device helps to reduce emissions more quickly). I put in the 160 thermostat and with the cooler weather it runs really cold, it barely gets past the first line, even with electric fan off and no clutch fan. Could this be my problem? Or do I have a bad oxygen sensor.

i installed the same supercharger and get the same code. it has too be that 160 therm. ive gone over everything as you have im sure. kenne bell as you know are a bunch of di==s when it comes to getting answers. so i bought a code reader that explaines that that is is exactly whats going on because the motor stays colder much longer with the new therm. glad im not the only one who found that out.

Yea, I thinks that is why, I'm probably going to put the 180 back in for the winter and use the 160 for the summer.

adam just for reference, its a 190 therm stock. but it still shouldnt be a problem. the only reason i dont do it is because its such a hassel.

I'm getting the same error. I have not replaced my therm (it's stock) Any advice on this? The shop down the road said it could cost any where from $70 to $250. In addtion to that, I can't get my state inspection sticker with the dumb light on.

Thanks in advance

arrg -= probable 'dirty' connection to
sensor - one on each side at front of intake.
one may be knocked loose..
note - if you have AIR - the sensor is hidden
by the compressor
was the thermostat replaced ?
connector may have been " bumped " then ??
