I have a 4.7 auto 4x4 standard cab. I just switched from a 3.55 to a 4.10. So far i love them and would do it again. It cost me 1650 to do the front and rear plus an auburn limited slip. I have the 31" tires. It feels like my truck is always in the power band. Acceleration has greatly improved. For a 5 speed the 4.10 might be a little high for a daily driver. I cruise at 2100 rpms at 70 because the auto has such a low overdrive. You may be close to 2500 at 70. I only lost about .5 MPG. Your warrenty shouldn't be affect as long as the garage does a good job. If something happens in the drivetrain and if the new gears are the cause then your warrenty is gone. If you have any expert do the swap you should be A Ok. I'm not sure how it will effect your traction because i have the auto. I can slam on the pedal on dry pavement and only spin them a little. I do have good tires though. Hope this helps a little.

5-speed Dakotas have a nearly useless first gear with 3.92's, much less 4.10's. The first gear in the NV3500 is 4.02. My experience is that first gear is good for about 15 feet with 3.92's. I start out in 2nd in the 5-speeds I have driven. Dodge really should use a tranny with closer gear ratios. A 3.0 first gear would be more practical. But that's just me...

<== 4.56s + 5pd

It really isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I use my first gear all the time..
