Had a jetchip in my last truck. Now the only thing I can find for my 03 V8 is a superchips programmer. Hypertech does not have one and jetchip has no chips yet.
Anyone use a superchips tuner before? I found onw for 290 and was wondering how the perform by people who used them firsthand. Thanks

I have one on my 2000 V-6, and it works great. A little better mpg, and a lot more pep. I also changed my tire size and removed the rev and speed limiters. She used to shut down around 95mph, now I have had it over 110.

The timing advance works very well at part throttle. Very good around town, etc. It not going to knock you back in your seat like a 100 shot or anything, but it is very notivceable.

I paid 285 on a group buy, so 290 sounds like a good price.

There are rumors that the PCM will adapt to the program, but this is false. The tuner actually modifies the flash on the pcm, so it doesn't do stupid stuff like the jet chip.

Lattimer,

What mods do you have on your dak? I wrote to Superchips with a list of my bolt-on mods and they said they don't offer a modified program for my Dak. I wrote back to see if the regular performance program would work well with everything I got. They never answered me so I thought there were no gains.

Anyway, I went for 1.7 roller rockers. I hope to install them in a couple of weeks. I think I have push the baffles on the valve for clearence (I wish they had Al crinkle for our V6s) and patiently adjust the valve lash for 10-15 more ponies. Maybe next year, I'll try the Superchips Micro Tuner.

I think the Superchips programmer kicks a#@.
Better MPG more pep and shifts very nice. Doesn't "bog" as much shifting through gears.
