specifics: 4.7L V8, auto, CC

Want to add performance. Could anyone with first hand experience (none of this "My friends sisters boyfriends dads uncle said...") tell me what are the best of the following (i know it all sometimes a matter of personal preference but lets give it a shot anymway.)

cams?
exhaust? (catback? true dual? 3"?)
TB's?
cold air intakes? (k&n?, or homemade w/ k&n filter?)

and just maybe... turbo or S/C?

lemme know, I'd love some opinions.

keep in mind i want to keep the mpgs as low as possible, and keep it semi street leagal.

You left out one of the best mods for your truck, a PCM flash. 2000 RC 4x4 auto here, with HO cams, Mike Leach flash, K&N drop in and ported 68 mm TB. The cams and PCM flash were very worthwhile. I got the TB from someone with the manual tranny, who I don't think was as impressed with the flash as I was. It brings your advance up to 34 degrees; my guess is that the manuals come with more spark advance stock. These 2 mods I believe are your best starting point. I haven't seen good documented gains from intakes or exhausts alone for the 4.7 in several years of visiting this site. I will be looking at some exhaust mods next to complement the larger ported TB and my other mods, but unlike many other motors I don't think thats the best place to start for the 4.7. Gains from the TB were not as dramatic as the cams or flash but I expect it to help contribute to the big picture. That's the important thing, for all your mods to work well together. If ultimately you want forced induction, you won't want the extra spark advance. I like it and can still run on 87 octane except when I'm towing, then I use premium.

go to gsmotorsports.com for a true dual exhaust that is supposed to be the stuff.

For throttle bodies check out thefastman.com for the best prices and call Dan Arcand (the fastman) before asking anyone on here about his throttle bodies. He's a great guy with excellent customer service.

Get the HO cams from a variety of different places.

The jury is still out on the best cold air intake. Noone seems to have dyno numbers except K&N and Roar, inc. K&N only got like 6-7 rwhp from their intake but Roar got 13 rwhp from theirs. Both of these intakes are very expensive. I've got a 4" z-tube w/ 9" Pro-Flow filter. Its huge and obnoxious but noone looks under the hood but me.

Talk to marty at KRCperformance.com about a turbo.

Paxton and Kennebell make superchargers for the 4.7L.

You ought to focus alot on your suspension as well. Alot of people leave the suspension out of the equation. You may find yourself with a strong haul ass engine but a suspension that makes you float all over the place.

Oh yeah, the z-tubes I mentioned are pretty expensive as well. I got mine used and in excellent condition at a good price.

I made my own alloy air intake with K&N drop-in, and Flowmaster 70 catback with 2 1/2" custom duals. Picked up a bunch of throttle response and about 1 1/2 mpg. My mods were based on past Mopar experience: good air in/ good air out. It still works.

Funny, no one has mentioned the Kenne Bell superchargers! I Don't know if one is offered for the 4.7 ltr, but, common sense says one should be available. For the money, you can't find more horsepower!

A switch to AMSOIL is not a bad idea either and it can be done with you next oil change.

Switching oil is not going to give him any noticible horsepower. I would go with a supercharger if you want lots of power.

I was just giving the last step in a performance mod due to the fact that it seemed like everything else had been mentioned.
