 Subject: Odd PCM Problem

I just bought an unflashed Mopar performance PCM for my 99 r/t. When I hooked it up, none of the indicators came on such as ABS or check engine or anything else I have read about in a lot of posts. Instead, my alternator wont work. I hooked up my stock one back up and everything worked fine. Is there something I'm doing wrong or did I just get a messed up PCM?

From what I've read, it will work without the vin but you will get some fault lights on the dash.
