just bought a 2000 4wd, just checking to see if anyone else has a knock in the front passenger side. Hitting bumps or under hard breaking, also what are other common problems I should look for.?

Since you bought the truck used you should do as I did and take it or the VIN# to local dealer and ask them to check and see if there are any open recalls on the truck. They should be happy to do it since Chrysler pays them for it. Also while there you might ask them for TSB 03-06-00 (AUG 00) Right front axle sounds. and any others that might be relevant to your problem. They don't have to do this but if they are decent and want to they can. I know there were at least 7 recalls on that year model some for safety, emissions and general stuff but it is important you have all theses done if they haven't been.

Could be ball joints, Dodge is having major problems with theirs going bad. Just had mine replaced at 14000 miles on a 2001 4x4

I was having a knocking sound on my drivers side when braking or going over speed bumps. Since it sounded like it was coming from the suspension and I have read so many bad things about the ball joints I thought that was the problem. Anyways, I looked around underneath it last weekend and found my left front cab mount was a little loose. The metal washers on it could be turned by hand, unlike all of the other cab mounts. I tightened it a couple of turns, and haven't had a sound yet.

Good luck, and I hope your fix is this easy as well.
