Subject: Cone vs. cylindrical K&N air filter??
IP: Logged

Message:
I am in the process of making a homemade pvc pipe intake. I have come across a $10 cylindrical 8" length with 3" opening K&N filter. Would a cylindrical filter of this type have any drawbacks compared to a 9" cone k&n?

the cone is made to fit into a small tapered area and the cylindrical is made to fit into a wide open space . No drawback to either one just wheather it fits and if you like the styling.

As far as the air intake, did the same on mine gained about 1.5 mpg on the hiway and the seat -of-the-pants dyno says a small hp increase but maybe that is just ego.
