I have an all-stock 1987 Dakota. It's a 5 speed with the 3.9 L v6. The body is rather unique and I just have become fond of it. Very nice paint and such....anyway, I like the feel of a nice Nissan Z series car. Obviously, I can't get that out of an old dak, but I'd really like to do some simple mods and get that beautiful thing moving. I was thinking a new intake or something. I have also considered rebuilding it and putting a new intake manifold to hold a 4bbl and then run headers and maybe cherrry bomb exhaust or something. Money is the real issue here. Any intake ideas that could maybe get the thing breathing a lil easier? If i can keep the carb i have it would be preferred. Also, what is the v8 throttle body thing I've been reading about? Would anyone reccomend that? Whatever you want to say will be appreciated. If you think I'm wasting my time, feel free to say that too.
Thanks

Yeah i saw where someone else rigged up a switch for that brown wire so they could save gas or something sometimes, and have fun others. I'm pretty new at messing with these things so what does the air intake flap look like and what does it do? Also, where is the "flap in the breather snorkel"? Im not sure what the breather snorkel is so any clues would be most appreciated.
Thanks so much for your time anybody that helps me out.
