My truck has recently killed over and I'm not sure what's wrong. Last Friday I drove the truck for about 30 miles and everything was working great. I left the truck in my school's parking lot and went on a camping trip with some of my friends. When I returned on Monday to drive home the truck began to act up. I was driving and all of a sudden it started running like crap. Things were knocking and pinging. The truck began to surge extremely bad and it felt like it was going to cut off. I'm not sure what went wrong, but everything was working fine prior to Monday. I wouldn't think that it sitting in a parking lot for 3 days would cause it to screw up. I also thought that maybe some kids might have put something into my fuel tank and that is what caused it to run like crap. I'm really not sure where to start. Here is a list of what I've done to the truck.

Edelbrock Headers
Powerdyne Supercharger
MSD BTM Ignition/Boost Retard System
MSD Tach Adapter
Borla Exhaust
MSD Blaster Coil

Have a boost gauge? If so-- is the boost in the normal range? Head gasket popped? MSD died?

I do have a boost gauge and the boost is consistent. I haven't checked the head gasket. what's the best way to check that? About the MSD I'll have to check that also. I have an MSD 6al so I'll swap it out and see if that's the problem. Thanks for the help.

Is it possible you are the victim of vandalism? Could someone have taken a leak in your tank or done something else like that?

Sounds real suspicious to me...I'd be inclined to think that somebody put something in my gas tank with problems such as you describe.

Do not drive it anymore. Drain the gas tank, put in a new fuel filter and then put in some fresh gas and try it again. You may have to drain the oil also.

Thanks guys I'll try doing that. I tried to start the truck last night but my starter is shot, so i'll have to replace that as well. Looks like I'm going to have a long weekend.

Check and see if someone lined the inside of your distributer cap with tin foil. Also look at the intake hoses going into the SG. Maybe someone dropped an ether capsule in the blower intake. Barrs Leak in the engine oil will glue your engine together after it was heated up and cooled down.

Short of breaking into the truck, there is no way to get under the hood. If people are aware of the mods you have done to the truck and know anything about forced induction, they may be aware of what tampering with your fuel system could do. If you try to blow it out on the street you could very easily lean out and roast your engine. You may also want to check your fuel lines for pinches, If your running really rich check to return line. If your running really lean check the supply lines, assuming you have an air/fuel meter. Not a very well known way to tamper with a parked car but it can definitely have you chaseing your tail for a long time. It may be a good time to invest in a fuel pressure guage if you don't have one.
