I just got a 99 R/T and I want to know if anyone has tried out the Hypertech Power Programmer, and if it's worth it or not. I'm not familiar w/all the performance parts yet and I've heard +/- about different things and need some info. on other things I can do to the truck to make it faster.

Thanks

I like mine, very much. It seems to have made an appreciable difference for my Dakota.
The shame of it is, it's out of the box for 15 minutes and then your done. And back to the box it goes. You don't get enough "play" time with the tool you just bought.

I just bought the Superchips programmer and it was about a 10 min install total but made a noticable difference on my 3.9, about the only difference between hypertech and superchips is superchips can read DTC's and is about $150-200 cheaper. its mostly a brandname preference thing.

I got the superchips to and I agree it is great but I think it takes less than 10 minutes to install. I have the V-6 3.9, you can not get a superchips tuner for the V-8 4.7 only but can for the rest. You may have to send it in for reprogramming but is worth the wait.

Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!

I also have a Superchips programmer and am very happy with it. I heard negative things as well but I think it was from guys who already had heavily modded their truck. If you use it on a stock truck you will notice the difference. Hypertech is a little different, I think you can play more with shift points and stuff, but for the most part they do the same thing to increase performance.
