Subject: oil pump

i have been noticing that the oil pressure gauge is reading low, I think its the oil pump failing. has anyone changed the oil pump in their truck , and is it a tough job? ... 1991 5.2L 2 wheel drive.

Yea, you'll need an engine puller to lift it high enough to get the oil pan off. It might be easier on your truck, mine was on a 2001 5.9.

Low pressure while over 2000rpm say's bad oil pump or cloged screen

Low pressure at idle+ noise at over 1000 rpm say's spun bearings.
