 Subject: How many miles do u have on ur Dakota?

Does anyone think I have high miles? I have a 1999 Dakota R/T CC with 56,500 miles on it. I bought it a year ago with 45,000 and I have put 11,500 miles so far. How many miles do you have on your Dakota? And how many miles did you buy it with? And how long have you had it? I would appreciate it if people would let me know their status because I have been told many times that I have high miles. Thanks in advance,

Bought my 97'SLT 6 mos.ago with 74,000 miles. Its my work truck so I drive it constantly. Just turned 85,000 this week and havent had a single problem to date. Have also begun the mod process. K&N Homebrew, Lakewood traction bars, Flowmaster 40's. Take care of her and she will be good to you!!

'96 SLT CC 5.2L. 154K miles. Still get 17-19 MPG and will still roast the hides. Change the oil every 3K and the engine will last forever. If you do all the regular maintainence, the only problem you may have is the tranny.

I bought my 2000 RT a couple of months ago with 2800 miles on it. The previous owner had too many cars and never drove it. I now have about 5000 miles on it. Still looks and smells new :)

2002 3.6L - Bought it in September of 2002. I now have 21,500 miles on it. I drive 92 miles round trip 5 days a week.

I have a 2000 Sport 3.9 with 49,000. I use it for a small delivery route to make extra cash and drive about 80-90 miles/day. Miles a little high but these miles are good miles (no shutoff/startup during route). Miles don't matter if treated right. My brother has a truck with 280,000 and 3 deer hits on it and still going strong.

1999 Club Cab auto-trans, 5.2L v-8...bought it in August of 2001 with about 40,000 miles on it...now have about 80,000 miles on it and still truckin'

99 cc 5.9 R/T, 88,000km
...drive it very hard on German Autobahns (up to 200kph)
problems so far:
piston rings and valve seat seals had to be replaced at 72,000km due to high oil consumption - now everything is perfect
AT will cause some problems in the near future and I am not yet sure if the differential will stand the temperatures araising from German Autobahn driving (average speeds of 140-180kph over 2-3 hours twice a week)
modifications:
big open K&N air filter
Mopar PCM
Mopar M1 intake manifold
Fastman 52mm throttle body
Accel ignition kit
Gibson exhaust

93 Club Cab 5.2 V8 tow package, limited slip, 4 wheel antilock brakes, 2000lb payload package. 205,000+ Replaced
radiator 100,000 (thermostat stuck, ran hot and it split)
Starter 140,000
Water Pump 160,000
Fuel Pump 172,000
Makes a few noises but still runs great and uses less than a quart of oil between changes. The way to keep one going is to do regular service. The tow package cooler for the transmission is the reason I think mine has lasted so long with out problems, and I have done a lot of towing.

my 2002 r/t has 11,000, and its about time for a new set of goodyear eagles. funny how that works. my dads '93 sport has 180,000, requiring only a water pump, fuel pump, and the little bulk-head connector for the blower motor. still has the original clutch, amazing considering I drove it. (it gets rubber in 1-4, and will chirp 'em into 5th.) I will never grow up. Just remember, drive it like you want it to run. Otherwise it won't respect you.
