I was thinking about getting the MBRP cat-back cuda style system with maybe some gibson headers.. any recommendations or warnings about those? This will be for my 99 5.2L anyone have any comments about if the dual exhaust will take away performance and maybe harm the engine because lack of back pressure? Should I get a new cat while I'm at it and if so what kind? Just looking for some recommendations thanks guys.

if you dont have intake mods or throttle body (aftermarket/ported), you might feel a little bit of loss, but when you put a cold air intake on it it will really wake it up, i wouldnt worry about the cat...take a look at PPH headers before you buy the gibson headers...

gibson headers suck... i suggest edlebrock T.E.S headers. they're easy to install too
