Well I've had the SMT6 for about 3 weeks now.
I originally installed it with the performance (flashed) ECU but decided to put in the stock ECU to see how much of a performance difference it makes.
Currently, the SMT6 is set up to modify the MAP signal and the Crank signal.
I also have the TPS, IAT sensor & O2 sensor outputs connected.
What this allows me to do is,
1. Advance/Retard the timing based on Throttle position, RPM and either Intake air temp or MAP.
2. Change the MAP values based on TPS, RPM and Intake air temp.
I havent been using the MAP modifications at all, i'm just concentrating on Timing, for now.
I've also removed the supercharger so I can see how much advance I can add before detonation occurs. Once I know the max timing this motor can use, the I can install the s/c and retard the timing accordingly.
The SMT6 also has provisions to modify the O2 sensor values and the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). Modifying the O2 sensor will allow you to make the ECU think it's running leaner than it really is and the ECU will provide more fuel. In effect I can tell the ECU it's running at 14.7:1 AFR when in fact it's actually running at 12:1 AFR. This is in closed loop operation only as the ECU will use it's stored fuel map values at WOT.
Modifying the VSS max value has the same effect as removing the speed limiter.
Unfortunately, the SMT6 can only do one or the other. Modify O2 or VSS but not both.
Also, I would like to be able to modify the Ignition timing using 4 variables (TPS, RPM, IAT & Boost)
but presently the SMT6 can use only 3 variables. I could achieve what I want with 2 SMT6s, by feeding the output of 1 SMT6 into the input of another SMT6. This would also allow me to control everything, Timing, Map, O2 and VSS etc.
The SMT6 can also control up to 6 extra injectors, NOS and a couple of other things.
I think I will eventually install an extra injector in the air hat and then remove the extra fuel pump and FMU that the s/c uses. This will give me the ability to more closely regulate the extra fuel when under boost.
Thats all for now. I will provide more updates as they occur.

Hi Tom, I talked to Bob today. He's got about a
month before he brings in a 4.7 DAK. That's
what I'm waiting for. I've talked to alot of guys
that are installing them and all have said good
things. Thanks for the update.

Hey Tom...I'd thought about this mod awhile back but didn't because I thought the PCM would eventually relearn things.

Any sign that the computer is trying to override the SMT system at all?

Oh and see what happens when you put the performance PCM back on installed w/ the SMT-6, I'd like to know what gains you see there and if its worth the extra money. If it doesn't show that much improvement over the performance PCM then there's no since in getting it.

god damn your a moron mike. If you read, the smt6 takes complete controll of the spark and fuel curves. It doesnt matter if you are running a stock or mopar flashed pcm. You take complete control of the curves. You have no control over the mopar pcm. On the dyno with the smt6 you can dial in the fuel curve with a wideband o2 sensor and set the timing curve on the verge of detonation for optimum performance. Of course its going to show gains over the mopar pcm. I bet with your setup you could find an extra 30rwhp with a proper tune with this box. that is if your pockets are deep enough to have someone install and tune it for you.

You f@ckin idiot whoz too much of a p$ssy to put your real name...you'd wanna keep the (V)opar PCM to keep the higher rev limiter and no speed limiter in tact. Plus w/ a B&G flash I'd still get to keep the Toque Management removed. So the SMT-6 would wanna be used w/ the performance computer cuz the SMT-6 doesn't let you adjust rev/speed limiters or remove Tq Management on newer vehicles you MORON.

smt6 does let you mod the rev and speed limiters ass hole. Everyone acts like tourque management is such a bad thing. You even said your self you cant drive your truck at the track. Tourque management would help with the launch. You just have to learn to drive with what you have

F*&K that hater guy Mike. Just another troll trying to get some attention.

Hater, all them tuner boxes say that , "complete controll over fuel/spark" But do they acctually hold their settings against a "learning" PCM ? That was Mikes question.

Pound salt.

Brush up on your reading before you do your flaming homo.

If you find anywhere in there where it says it adjusts your rev/speed limiters let me know smartguy.
