 Subject: Quick D intakes??

quick ? here guys. anyone heard anything about these systems? i've looked at pretty much every system for my truck and ive heard good things about intense performance systems from some of the other posts on this site but i dont wanna spend that kind of money plus id have to relocate the cruise control cable. the thing that really got my attention was the 120 dollar price tag, shipping included. any info you guys can give my is greatly appreciated.

I've had one for about 3 years, it works great.

ive been in touch with tony at quick d pretty recently and it sounds promising but i wanted to get some other opinions first before deciding on anything. tell me about what you noticed when you put it on, i.e. gas mileage, power increase, etc. your info is greatly appreciated.

Tell Tony I said Hi! He actually called me about the intake the day of 9/11... we ended up talking for a while. Nice guy.
I noticed quite a bit of immediate throttle response because the engine could breathe better. It's easy to install and I liked it better than some of the others because it is stainless steel and polishes up quite nicely.
It comes with a 9" K&N cone, that alone is worth $100 up here in Canada. I've had a couple of friends who went for the more expensive K&N FIPK, but had to send them back for exchange due to cracking. This one looks the same as it did the day I bought it. You can see it in the pic below:

thanks i appreciate it, i hear some people talkin about how tony's a crook or whatever and i dont wanna believe it cuz i like the look of his product and i just like to give people a chance first. im gonna go with the quick d though cuz i just cant get over the price and what you've told me. looks like you're goin v8 on us, lol. you're gonna like that, my buddy mark has all the mods that you're doin in his 2000 r/t and its quick as hell, oh yeah he also has a 125 shot of nos also. thanks for your info and take care. good luck with the engine swap.

I don't think he's a crook - when I talked to him
he was having a lot of problems physically
from an accident a while back. I live way up
here in Canada, I was surprised to get a
phone call from him before he shipped the
part.

ahhhh, so thats why he's always tellin me to "be safe and take care" in his emails to me. i thought he was just bein really nice. he seems really cool and down to earth and thats exactly the kind of people i wanna deal with when im buyin truck parts. i cant wait till i get my setup, ive already got some stuff done but im ready to do some real stuff. thanks for the info.

Those are probably the nicest looking rims I've seen on a dakota yet. Nice job. Probably set you back atleast 300-350 a piece, huh? Look perfect with the drop.

Thanks a lot. The drop, unfortunately, is photoshop only for now :(.
I got the rims from a new Boyd dealer in Texas, a real good guy, for a bit less than $300 per. They are Boyd Coddington Smoothies, and although they look good , they are a B*TCH to keep clean! :)
I cleaned them and the truck up yesterday:

Tony's a good guy-- the picture of the yellow RT on his website is my wife's old 99 CC RT.
I haven't heard from him in a couple of years-- if you get a hold of him, tell him to call me--
619-274-1292--- Would be good to talk with him again.
I know he is busy working at his 'new' job as of 2+ years ago.

I agree w/ what all of these guys have said. Tony is a stand-up guy, very good to deal with. I dealt w/ him back a few years ago - was always prompt w/ service - and great to talk with. My 2k Dak loved his stuff - now I can treat my new '03 Dak to it again!

thanks guys, i wasnt too sure of what to think about his products but i agree with what you've all said. he comes across as a good person and not one of those dealers whos there one minute and gone the next. hey sam, what kind of power did your wifes r/t get from his intake, i have a 2001 RC r/t myself and am tryin to get a handle on what i can expect from it. any info you can give me is much appreciated: gas mileage, power added, etc. oh yeah, if any of you guys can get me a number where i can reach him i would really appreciate it.
