Argh.
Im gonna make this short and simple....
I bought new spark plugs, bought wires...the wires were bad. We thought it was the timing, but it was the wires because the old wires worked fine (so during this time we changed the timing). Brought the wires back, got my money back. Old wires worked fine, so we used those. Changed the timing back to what we though was good.

Every now and then, my truck will backfire through the throttle body (doesnt happen often). Could this just be from the timing? Wire? Spark Plugs? I have Bosch Platinum (4202) plugs (which are supposively good spark plugs for my truck). '93 dak sport.

do me a favor and clarify something for me? how did you change the timing? by rotating the distributor? all your doing by rotating the distributor clockwise or counter- clockwise is changing the injector pulse width. when you moved the distributor, you changed the timing of when the injectors hit and how much to hit when te cylinder fires. you need a DRB to set the sync signal for your distirbutor, and thats available at your local dodge dealer. hope this helps.

just like i said earlier, rotating the distributor only changes the sync signal for the injector pulse width. there is an index mark on the distributor where the hold-down touches the base, put the notch on the hold-down in the center of the index mark and you should get pretty close. from my experience the bosch platinum plugs are junk. try switchin to autolites or regular bosch supers, ditch the platinums.
