Subject: mopar stall conv. + transgo kit in!

Well after a severe tragedy, my tranny died last weekend and I just got it back from the shop.

Rather then pay 390 for a stock chrysler converter I combed the country and found a dealership that had the mopar high-stall converter (they are on back order everywhere), they had only one and it was 160 so I had it drop shipped to aamco along with the transgo shift kit from summit (109 bucks).

I got the truck back today and love it, ripped a serious dent in my savings account (1900 which included my other parts, would have been more but I saved some buying some of the parts myself) but I am actually happy. There is another guy on the board that did the same thing, had aamco install the torque conv. and shift kit while getting his tranny rebuilt and was very happy with it. The shifts from 1st-2nd-3rd are extremely crisp, it doesnt BANG into gear but it's much more aggresive then before.. there is zero pause now.

The converter rocks, not that I needed it but they are tested @ 1000HP and run 11's all day plus thats what went out on my tranny (that and the seals) but anyhow I'm sure I'll be able to harness it better on slicks but it's great regardless because I'm launching forward while barely touching the gas, it acts like it's jumping to eat something now like a riced out civic heh.

Today I picked up a hayden tranny oil cooler from pep-boys for 40 bones which I'll throw on this weekend. Next up the mopar pcm and I'll be all set man for like 3 months : o )

long story short, if you have a hook-up get the torque converter in.. it's beefier and WILL help nicely on your 1/4 times, the transgo kit for the money is wicked in fact other than my blower it gave me the most satisfaction, plus it extends the life of your tranny all for 100 bones. I paid about 1200 in labor and a few extra for stronger springs which I had him install on 2nd and 3rd gear. The total cost sucked but it had to be done, at least I stuffed the tranny with what I could while it was out heh.
