I am not sure if any of you remember me, but I had a 97 Dodge Dakota RC 3.9 that was bagged, shaved, and more. I used to own smokindakota.com. I sold that truck last year and bought a 62 Cadillac Hearse. Well she is being restored and I just picked up a 00 Dakota CC 4.7 2wd.

I have some questions for the 4.7.

What size exhaust is best? 2.5" or larger

Is Bernd and speedtweaks still going? What about F&B throttle bodies?

If not where can I get a TB?

Thanks,

Steven

So where is the best place to get performance parts for the 4.7? Also, any one have answers to the questions in my first post.

Thanks,

Shoot, I have 2.25" exhaust (Ravin) on my 4.7 and I've never had a problem. I might upgrade to duals (2x2.5") but I think you can run anything up to 3" and be ok.

Congrats on the step up... I remember seeing your other truck, so you'll have a lot of catching up to do to get this one where you want it.

If you're going to be throwing some cash at the 4.7, might I suggest skipping some of the smaller stuff, and going straight to the supercharger? I know it's not practical for some, but DAGGUM these things love forced induction.
I'm running 2-1/2" true duals on mine, and the performance is awesome. I added the free'r flowing exhaust after the charger, and picked up 5 tenths in the 1/4, and gained 3-4mph.

KRCperformance.com is a great place to find all kind of goodies for your ride. Marty & Tripper will help you out with whatever you're looking for. Check out the WHAT's NEW PAGE, and the 4.7 PAGE.

Or for your F&B....Sam at SocalDakotas.com

Whatever your flavor for mods for the 4.7, be it N/A, or forced induction, parts are becoming available more and more.

Good luck with your build up.

I had 3" pipe added from cat back with a magnoflow and there is a difference more power and deeper sound, im positive just that mod added 10+ hp to my 4.7. I also added a intake at the same time so I think just those 2 mods will get you at least 15 more ponys

I have already fabricated a intake out of some stainless steel piping we had laying around the shop, but I will be making a z tube pretty soon. My buddy has a Flowmaster 2 chamber with a 4 ft section of 3" piping attached to it that was on his ram. I am probably going to add that this weekend. I know I have some catching up to do, but hopefully I will get some sponsers this time to help me out. After all, we did just get the cover of Truckin Mag Sept. 03 with the 2 door excursion we built.
