 Subject: New 4.7 mods...hey Bernd

New to dodge and just bought a 2001 Dakota Sport club cab 2wd, 4.7, auto, 3.55open, white..............looking to modify need more power.......my plans are as follows:
Autolite 5224 plugs (already have rough idle many attribute to stock champions at 1100 miles) my past experience = champions are really junk!!!
dynomax replacement muffler........going for sleeper look so want to use factory tail pipe do u know part # for exact fit?
robert shaw 180 degree thermostat
bernd iat kit
quick-d or intense Z-tube air intake........which do u recommend? Is the IP z-tube worth the extra $50 bucks?
Make the switch to mobil 1 at around 5K(2nd oil change)
Jet stage II chip.......ok or do u recommend another?
What's the easiest way to remove the 98 MPH speed limiter? Future mods----sure grip which unit do u recommend? Electric fan? Blower----why is the kennebell kit so high priced? is it worth it? $4000 seems like a lot for the 1/4 mile gains I've seen posted
Thanks in advance, I'm a ford convert (no V-8 small truck)and u seem to be the best dakota information source around and I don't blame you for making money on it the way some do...that's the American way, capitalize on what you know best!!!

All of the mods listed are on the right track. Yes, the Intense Performance Z-Tube is worth it as well. :)
Since Mopar has stopped any plans of a performance PCM for the 4.7L (for now), the Jet seems to have been working pretty well on other 4.7L's. Best I can say on that one is try it for yourself...they do carry a guarantee.
On the Kenne Bell system, it doesn't use a (less expensive) Centrifugal Supercharger and they have spent the time to add a Mass Air Flow meter to the system for more accurate fuel/air management. It's worth it.

I don't consider myself a ford convert, but I ended up in the same boat, no "compact" v8 truck. I wanted a 4dr truck also, and well, the ranger ex-cab didnt get it for me. The KB blower doesnt just add HP, it adds torque, which for a truck that you are going to use as a truck is what you need.
