about the lowest you can go is a 4/6. I got my kit from western chassis and it rides almost stock. As for ajustable suspencion goes, you can get air baggs for it, but to get a nice ride out of them it will cost you $4000-$5000. with either the 4/6 kit or the 'baggs you will need to c-notch the frame. hope this helps

I've been researching this quite a bit; I'm going to do this soon to my '01 QuadCab, 2WV6. Here is my finding. (Check the links below) If you love the ride of your stock Dakota, go with western's front control arms and rear hangers (2/4 drop). It's a mild drop with your stock springs. I think you can also get away with the stock stocks on the front since the mounted length remains the same. Also stock alignment is a slam dunk. If you don't mind a somewhat stiffer ride, go with Hotchkis springs (2/3 drop). I've heard one alignment complaint, but I think it's good product with a reputation. Stiffer, but is less likely to bottom out on those freeway bumps. The rear spring is progressive, so maybe a little better capacity than lowered w/stock spring. Hotchkis uses expensive, but excellent, Bilstien shocks. The Hotchkis solution is significantly more expensive. I haven't decided which way I'm going yet, mostly because I really like the stock ride. It's ONE of the reasons I bought the truck over the competion. I'll make my decision once I put on my 18s. Let us all know what you decide and how it works out. You'll soon be one of our experts!

Eric is one one the most helpful I've heard on this site about lowering. If you're going low low low, bounce it off Eric.

Eric,
My 18s should be in next week! woo-hooo!

It's a new wheel. My order had to wait for a big enough batch to do a run.
