Do they make long tubes headers for the R/T or just shorty. Also which brand is the best. By the way its an 01' if that helps any.

I ordered the Mopar PPH headers for my 02 R/T from Sam at SoCalDakota.com. From what I read on here they are suppost to be the best for our trucks. I think they are a long tube header but then again I could be wrong, but I think so. I will let you know how they are performance wise when I get them on.

MP headers are shorties - they are longer than stock manifolds but are still shorties. If you want conventional long tubes get a set of Hooker Super Comps - #5803. They require that you weld in O2 bungs and fab a Y pipe to run on a EFI motor though.

The PPH/Mopar headers are neither "shortie" or long tube headers. They are a traditional Tri-y header. Kind of in between shortie and long tube. best of both worlds

The Hookers are the only true race header I've
found. Takes a couple days if you have an automatic, probably less with the 5spd. This in
conjunction with the M1 allows much better breathing and response. Torque is moved up also.
I ran the left side over close to the right and then both straight back. Still using the the stock
converter and sensors on the right. Super Trapps
at the rear. The 2.5" elbows are reasonable from JC Whitney to fab it up, 20' of straight pipe and
the mig welder and your done.
