Subject: Change rear gear ratio - V6
IP: Logged

Message:
Since I am having so much done to my truck....I asked around and was told for the money...the absolute best way to get some performance is to change my stock gear ratio.

I havn't a clue what mine is right now...but it's a V6 CC 99 2WD....I don't believe I have limited slip.

How would I have the rear end work done? Is there a kit, or do I just have the shop do the work. What ratio do I go with??

I've joked that I wished I had a 'posi' rear end...in which both tires tun instead of simply my right rear tire. I assume that is a big job and has disadvantages....but heck...while the shop is there is this somehting to consider?

As always, your responses are appreciated.

TIA
Kevin

It would be safe to say that your rearend is a 3.55. You can check that by looking at the sticker on the inside of your glovebox. I would say go either 3.91's or 4.10's. If you dont do alot of long distence driving deffinitely go 4.10's. I sell them on my website check it out.
