Hey,
Ive read up on both I just want to know...
Can the drivetrain on a 01 4.7 4x4 withstand
the 9lb psi ProCharger? How much horsepower.
Kenne bell how much horsepower? which would
be better for everyday driving..get the longest
life out of the engine. I drive lots of highway
miles...anybody have any idea what the kennebell
runs in the 1/8th on a 4x4 4.7L Procharger stats
would be good too..
thanks, justin whitt

The April issue of Sport Truck (out last week) has an article on the Kenne Bell. Baseline, the 4.7 ran 193 hp and 253 lb-ft. With the supercharger, it measured 269 hp (up 76 hp) and 280 lb-ft. After adding headers and a cat-back, the 4.7 measured 296 hp (up 103 hp) and 329 lb-ft (up 76).

If you value instant low rpm power go with the KenneBelle, little more $ but offers more usable power in a very complete, reliable package. You reportedly get full boost by 2000rpm unlike the linear boost made by others like paxton or vortech that only go up in boost as rpms rise. Read alot on them and seen a couple. Look like a nice package.

Golden West Performance is the one making the ATI porcharger for the 4.7 Phone number is 303-346-5232 I have talked with them a lot and the ATI is an intercooled system and puts out a lot of HP but it also cost alot. Kenny is the owner real nice guy.

Only Kenne Bell and Paxton make S/C for the 4.7 9 Pis of boost is to high for the compression ratio of the 4.7 7 psi is about the max unless beefed up.

Those numbers for the kenne bell dyno run are wrong!! The stock numbers look good but my dyno came out at 267 hrs... 317 lbs/ft.Totally stock except the charger. The torque curve is not a curve..... perfectly flat, due to the fact i'm auto i could not get a full run from 0 rpm but i started around 2500 or so.....(had to start where it would not "kick down") that's why i like the kenne bell. There is an old post on here somewhere with my dyno sheet. I have a 2000 quad cab 4.7 auto. I'll post my numbers after i add my cat-back system.... couple of weeks.

I have the twin screw setup on my 2001 QC Dakota. I
have a #10 pulley installed om the SC and stock
flywheel pulley. I haven't run my truck on the dyno
but the guy I bought it from said it was running
about 350rwhp. Although mine has been been bored 30
over has upgrades to pistons rings rods bearing
camshaft 70mm TB. It has more upgrades to the motor
than I know of. The truck runs 6psu at it's max rpm
but I'm going to be taking it in to at least double
that by changing around the pulley sizes. I'm
hoping to pull out between 400 and 500 rwhp. I am
in love with the thing but I'll need to move up to
an 8 or 10 rib setup to stop the slippage. I'm not
even sure if I can get it up to 15lbs of boost but
thats my hope. It may be a pipe dream but we will
see!!

I just purchased a used procharger set-up from a guy that I am in the process of installing on my '99 Dakota RT with a 408 stroker. The gentlemen that I purchased it from had it in a '99 Durango and he said it ran awesome until it developed head issues. He told me that Procharger maybe built one or two kits for Durango's, back 6-8 years ago I believe. I purchased everything (PCS1) supercharger and 3 core intercooler, all piping, controller, map sensor, booster pump, belts, injectors, and mounting bracket. Looking at the 2 vehicles, I do not see any reason it won't bolt right into my Dakota. I already have my battery relocated, but he had to relocate his so the system would fit. Hoping with 8-10 psi of boost to pick up another 80-100 rwhp. The truck is already a lot of fun but it is always room for a little extra.
