Did you run 1/4 mile or only the 1/8 mile. Great Reaction time though, that is half the battle once you get into competitive racing.

thats where you should be. my rex should be
low to mid 9's...if I ever decide to drag it ; )

my 01 4.7 CC auto ran 9.8's so you should be
one to two tenths faster in the 1/8th.

if i should be 9.7-9.8 then what am i doing wrong
where do i need to improve? is my reaction time to slow i know i can improve on it. my friend got a .125 something like that . he said when the last yellow light lit up he kicked it. he has a 2001 silverado he ran a 10.77 with no tire spin and a great reaction time so he thinks he did about the best he could do. i couldnt really tell if i spun or not i couldnt hear a thing with the helmet and the loud car next to me, plus i was nervous as heck . let me know how to improve, id love to get in the 9's cheap or free.

Lew,
All it takes is some practice. Let the air down in your rear tires to 22-24 psi. When your staged, hold your break and rev up to the point your about to break loose. Dont worry about reaction time until you get your launch down. Then on green release the break and ease into the gas at the same time. Once you feel like you can floor it without spinning, DO It. After you get the hang of it you'll cut 2.1-2.2 60's all night long.

Lew, what is the Elevation of the track you was running at. Higher elevations can kill your 1/8th mile times by as much as .7 seconds.

I have run at 380 ft elevations and turned 9.46 1/8ths at 75 mph. But last night I ran at 4,650 ft elevation and ran a 10.589 1/8th at 67.89 mph.
and a 16.366 1/4 at 84.37 mph and have run in the 14's at the 380 ft track. So consider your elevation also. I ran this on the Stock GoodYear LS's last night, and before I had Pirelli Scorpions on.

And this is a 4.7L not an R/T.

Just based on my personal experience w/ my 01 R/T. Don't stall against the brake, but rather stomp it to the floor as soon as the 3rd amber flashes. Reaction time does not effect the ET time at all. I would say the best indicator of performance is the 1/8 mph. Stock in the 67-71 mph range. 60' times w/ good traction shoud be in the 2.2 range.

i had 2.1-2.2 60 ft times with spinning off the line.(no nitrous)street tires.i ran at bristol, tennessee(thunder valley)i see where elevation gets you.i ordered a bottle heater and plan to return this week on the bottle with 100hp shot.the temp dipped down in the 50's and my nitrous temp was too cold, too low bottle pressure to use!(when i went last)i ran without the bottle 15.20@93 mph ,high elevation.my 1/8 run was 10.25@72 mph.2,10-2.20 60ft.best reaction time was .397 on a 0.00 light.
