Subject: TPS with LCD volt display
IP: Logged

Message:
If folks running increased air flow (4barrel or 50+ mm TBs) are interested I'm looking at building a TPS control with digital display and adjustable voltage control to easy see exactly what voltage the signal is to the computer. The
display could be mounted anywhere you can run the
wires to. Late models have an open area above the
column in front of the speedometer/tach. Reply by email if you would be interested in discussing further. I'm not asking for a commitment to buy
just want to see a gross number of responses.
My estimated cost is < $70.00. The same can be
provided for other sensors.

With regard to the adjustability, I would think that you'd want to sent it at .73/.76 and just leave it permanent. I don't see a gain to adjust it for different driving conditions. But you're on to something.

I'm seeing a big difference between a leaner
every day driver and a .5-1.2v increase to allow
richer fuel needed to nail it or tune for
weather conditions or max acceleration. Raising
the hood and pluging in the VOM really isn't practical nor can you obtain a good range. This would allow instant monitorable changes to be made. It's not a self correcting scuzzy program with feedback but does give the driver a very versatile machine. No potential for drilling damage to the TPS.
Thanks for your reply.

I thoguht the TPS possition was to determine throttle response. What is the fuel mixture adjustment that it does for a richer mixture?

Heck of an idea. Heres another. Can you locate the speedometer lead in order to splice a switch in that could kill the speedo, preventing speedlimiters?
