You guys are silly. People always compare apples to oranges. Oh my S/C lightning outran your N/A dakota. Whats funny is even like a 98-99 lightning is still right near 30 grand but you can get a 98 dakota for around 12. Now if you have a 30,000 budget you invest another 18 in that dakota I think it might be fast...

On a side note I raced one of these new chebby's without realizing what it was. He had a functional ram air hood and exhaust too. I pulled a truck lenght on him through first without spraying.

Chevy SS trucks are slow. My 93 Dak beats them also without nitrous. With nitrous ...bye-bye lightenings!

Well guys my stock(but not for long) 4.7L 5-speed has never seen the back of a stock R/T going stop light to light, so now tell me the 5.9L is faster then a 4.7L and my truck has never cut-out on me.

Dakota R/T's do not have the advantage of a manual trans as your 4.7 Dak has. The current generation Dakotas are heavy trucks, thats why when my 93 Dakota extended cab was stock i was still going 4-5 tenths of a second faster in the 1/4 mile with a smaller engine against standard cab R/T's. I still like the looks and the power of the R/T's ,but i wish they were lighter.
