i just got a 40 series flowmaster from my local muffler shop installed on my 2001 r/t . i have been reading about different mufflers and they are talking about 1 ,2 ,and 3 chambers , how do i know how many chambers i have? i just asked for a 40 series , what can i expect as far as horsepower gains ? will i lose torque from freeing up the exuast ? and my opinion on this thing is i should have just saved the 90 bucks cause it is barely any louder than the stock exuast. thnaks in advance for any helpful responses

If all ya did was the muffler you may see a very small increase if any. But i do know that the 70 series is really f#cking loud!!!! That was on a 5.0, but i could hear him coming a mile away. The 40 series muffler is tame at idle but isn't it loud when ya get on it?????

The 40 series is a 2 chamber muff. It is the original flowmaster muff. If I remember correctly the 30 series or maybe its the 20 not sure but anyway, is a 1 chamber -loudest, and the 50 series is 3 chamber-deeper sound lower in cab resonance. the 40 series is somewhere in between.

If its barely louder than stock then it cant be the original 40 series that one is LOUD, must be the delta flow 40.

The Delta Force 40 series is a two chamber but not as loud as the original American Thunder 40 series, which is also a 2 chamber. The 40's are the loudest that Flows make besides the badass one chamber 10 series, which i highly recommend cuz i have it lol, but just a 40 series swap from stock isnt much louder, get a high flow cat, that will help, do one better, get rid of the cat and get a 10 series like mine, i love it
