Subject: Question for NitrousSteve?

Your exhaust set up is similar to what I'm going to do (except I'm going w/ Magnaflow), the only thing is I'm trying to decide whether to go with a 2.5 in and 2.25 dual out or a 3.00 in and 2.5 dual out, I noticed you have the latter. My question is, did you lose any low end with that setup, I noticed you have a manual and I know a loss of low end is less noticeable in that case, I have an auto so I am very concerend about losing low end but then again I cannt see much improvement over stock just replacing my 2.5 in muffler with another 2.5 in muffler, what are your thoughts? ANyone else with either of the exhaust setups I mentioned?

Thanks

pittdawg,
whats up?
thanks for asking....i would go with the single 3" from your cat to the muffler.if you have an auto trans, and are worried about low end torque go with the dual 2.25" exits.i personally would use the 2.5" duals regardless of trans, granted you have a v8(5.2/5.9/4.7).i did not loose any torgue that i can tell.really feels like i gained some.have not dynoed,so i am speculating.
for the v6 set up i would use 2.5 single into
dual 2.25 after the muffler,or a true dual setup.
blown v6's can handle the v8 set up.well thats what i have gained from past experience, hope it helps!
where are you going to mount the muffler?i put mine where the spare used to be.you can bend the dual exits to mount off the frame using factory holes.i did not drill a thing!

Yeah sorry forgot to mention, I got a 4.7 also...sounds like I may go with 3 inch in and dual 2.5 out, I know for sure I want dual exit, I love the way it looks, just trying to make sure I don't lose any low end but at the same time pay for more then just better sound (increased performance and mpg's are actually my mine goals)...thanks for the info.
