Subject: Misfire Multiple Cylinders!

Message:
HELP? I am getting P300, P305, and P306 error. I have replaced the Coil, spark plugs ( from .034 up to .045 ), Cap, Rotor, Plug Wires, I have checked the Compression on all Cylnders, I have taken of the MSD 6A ignition. I have checked the TPS, IAT, MAP, and Camshaft Position sensors.

The Fuel Injectors are brand new 21lb FMS's

Crank Position Sensor and fuel pressure are about the only things that have not been tested.

I also noticed when I get on it, and it shifts from 2-3 at around 5200 RPMS, it kind of falls of and shifts anyway. Very Weird.

Anyone want to help me get this thing back in proper shape?

Thanks, Frog

Frog,
Where did you get the injectors? I asume that you mean 24lb injectors because FMS does not make 21's. Anyway you should get a fuel pressure reading and see if you are getting the right pressure. FMS injectors are rated @ 38psi idle and 42psi WOT. If you are running low fuel pressure it could cause you some of the problems your describing.

I did a fuel pressure test and got 45 PSI. I changed out the PCV Vlave and Breather filter, and still no luck.

FMS 21 lb Injectors do exist now!

Any other offers a gladly excepted.

Thanks Again,

I get all those codes you mentioned and others for the other cylinders...but mine if cuz of the cam, and if you had a different cam I'd say thats whats causing it, but since you don't then you'll just have to break it down and try and remember what mod you put on last that would make it read a misfire. Was it the injectors? Was it the MSD? Was it the 2.02's? Just think of when it came on and what the last mod was and thats more than likely your problem. Keep in mind its not necissarily a problem that your throwing those codes, its basically telling you the computer doesn't like all the high perf. mods your doing to it and it doesn't know you've changed injectors or that you've swapped out the heads it still thinks you have the stock ones on and all of a sudden more air & fuel is being mixed and its freaking. Don't worry though it shouldn't hurt performance.

Had the same problem a while back. Mine was due to the MSD. Had to put in one of their Adapters. Also had the problem show up when I gapped the plugs too wide. Went back to .035
Hope this helps.

Thats your problem then! Every R/T of my buddies that has a cam all have their misfire codes coming on...not even R/T's but Fbodies and a bunch of guys w/ performance cars all throw codes so don't worry about it.
