I know alot of you have set off car alarms and I've set off many as well. But on some vehicles if I park beside them or drive close to them while the alarm is set the normal alarm doesn't go off but the horn honks in this erratic pattern like its going nuts or something...just thought that was the weirdest thing.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard this happen before.

It's just chirping at you to get away. It's like you're almost setting it off, and it's a warning. When cars do that to me,, I make it a point to rev her up and set it off just for the hell of it. heheheeeeeee

I gotta 4.7L out a Flow 2 chamber dumped right out the muffler. Super fun in parking garages...

Well I've heard the short bursts that alarms do like the short beeps to warn you but these last as long as an alarm they keep going after I've shut it down way different than it just chirping for you to stay away. Its like its not consistent chirps its erratic honking, different patterns or somethin.

I hear what you're saying.... I would say that yes,,in some way you've scrambled something causing it's erratic behavior,,,pretty funny.

Mike,

i started up my truck yesterday with only 2 1-2" down pipes coming off of the headers.... set off moms Z28 that was 30 feet away...

my favorite is parking garages... take my truck just to see how many set off... really screws with the security's heads

Yeah I live at an apt complex and I park in the street sometimes and I set off about 2 cars every time I come home I know I'm pissin somebody off.

I think my record was at a shopping mall w/ 4 levels of parking and every level was full till I got to the top over there at the Parks Mall...people must set their alarms really sensative or somethin. But I lost count of how many I set off but it is fun :D

I used to have One Chamber Flows but took em off cuz they were annoying at WOT had a weird raspy sound...put 40 series 2 chambers back on and now its deep at WOT but still sounds good at idle but I also got 3" from the headers till it dumps before the axle so that might be why its loud too.

Have never set off car alarms. But, once set off the alarm to the Maxway's store in my hometown. Had stopped to work on something under the hood for a second. When I started the engine, I was about 75 yards away directly across from the store front. The noise from the 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust with super turbo mufflers set off the alarm. I sit there until the police arrived and explained to them what happened.

What's louder than my truck dumped, catless and mufflerless?

My straight-piped RX-7. Yeah! Hahahaha. Wont set of any car alarms, but it'll sting your ears from a good distance at higher RPMs.
