I've had a Hurst for almost two years. If the stick hits the dash it means that the two bolts that attach the shift lever to the shift mechanism are loose. If you buy one, don't use the thin rubber insulator where the shift lever attaches. Bolt it on solidly. If you've already installed it, take it apart and throw the insulator away! Make certain that you adjust the stops according to the directions
