How loud is the ticking?? Can you try holding onto your fuel injectors and seeing if the ticking is the injectors?? Could also be the Evap Purge solenoid on the firewall.

since your RT does have a hydraulic cam it is unlikely that would be the problem but it could be. remember just because there set at zero lash doesnt mean they cant come loose. check them at TDC and ATDC to make sure. also look for a exaust leak on the drivers side as well.

those are 2 very good possibilities...ive never had an injector go bad, but i guess it could happen... the tick is fairly loud, you can hear ith with windows up/down, but you cant really hear it at idle...the tick gets the loudest in the midrange, and it does vary with the rpms of the motor...thats why i think its a rocker/pushrod, or now an injector..i may just have to take a peek at the injectors tomorrow...hope you are right!! thanks guys

The rocker/push rod tick is more deeper/solid sound, the injectors are a light/shallow sound. If you heard both (and both can be very loud) you would know it's very different.

Good luck

Take some sort of hose, place one end to your ear and the other on the fuel rail. You'll be suprised how loud it can be. My injectors are so loud now that it's ticking echos threw the intake from the fuel rails making sound like noisy lifters. I've got the junk skinny red injectors. I'll be replacing mine very soon, I'm going to try my friends 24# FMS injectors from his car. He also has a set of 30# but that's way too big.

Honestly, I am thinking it is probably an exhaust leak. Do you have headers?

no, no headers, stock except for msd, cold air, flowmaster, and nitrous, and the dealer just replaced the cat a week ago, so im pretty sure the exhaust is solid. im going to drag my sick ass outside and see if its an injector, hopefully it is, and i can fix that cheaply.

I just noticed a clicking sound on my truck. I don't have an R/T. In fact I would say that I have the complete oposite. I have a 2.5L. But I found out that it was my header making the noise. All I had to do is retorque them.

Probably a lifter. Chrysler had some problems with them. I take it you don't want the pistons.
