I when to the track Friday night. My problem was when I left the line I would get violent wheelhop. I only have limitedslip so only one wheel was spining. Would installing a rear swaybar or a traction bar help with axle windup? I was only lanching at 1000 rpms so I don't think that was the problem. thanks 03 4.7 5 speed w/heavy duty suspension

97 5.2L 5spd reg cab 2x4, i also get mad wheel spin when launched above 1000k, but no wheel hop on smooth pavement. are the cal tracs the best traction bars? seen them for around 330 online.

The caltracs and the comp engineering bars are both fully adjustable so you can preload the chassis. When I have my comp engineering bars dialed in i don't get any wheel hop, just hook up.
Tom, are you sure you have a limited slip diff? It sounds like you have an open diff since you say only one wheel is spinning.

The bars will take out the wheel-hop, but the tires will still fry if you try to launch over 2,000rpm without slipping the clutch.

I'm running el'cheapo $30 Lakewood Traction Bars. They plant the street tires at the track well enough to cut 2.1 60ft times, but I also run at the track on Mickey Thompson ET Streets too. When I run the ET Streets, there is absolutely NO spin. It just hooks and rolls.

I have ran with Dakotas at tracks with the Caltracs, and they are happy with them, but if they are on street tires, they are still spinning. Just up to you, if you want to pay $300+, or if you want to pay $30 bucks. In my opinion the Caltracs look a helluva lot better, and don't hang as low to the ground, but it depends on what YOU want.

I have the slide-a-links from Competition engineering. I have not tried them at the track yet, but at the track without them I got a best of 2.35 60'. They help out the handling big time. For me they are worth it, way more fun through corners now.

Don't want to start something, but L/S doesn't always mean both tires will turn.

I have video of my L/S 3:92 rear on slicks at the track doing a DRY burnout. Only tire spinning at the beginning was the left.

SEMI-POSI?
