you might search around here good, I remember reading that some have used the same t-stat as the other Magnums but that you had to Dremel or file a notch in it and you could reuse the "O" ring that's on the 4.7 also read someone drilled a hole in it

midnight,

'went to have it put in?' OK, anyway,

It will not be in a book anywhere. If they look it up, there's no application for it, maybe that's why they told you it wouldn't work.

I installed my own, nearly two years ago. If you install it-which I recommend, you'll see the area that should be notched when looking inside the o-ring gasket, and at the stock t-stat. just notch it at approximately the same place, You don't have to drain the whole system, and make sure you bleed the air out after you're done, and readd what you drained.

I used an old, clean kitchen pan to catch the fluid. (no-I didn't reuse it to cook with!)

Do a search, or e-mail me, for some great instructions.

YOu don't have to drill any holes.

Some didn't even notch the 180 t-stat, and it still worked.

Not sure what year you have midnight, but my 2002 already had the notch in the thermostat housing and I reused my stock gasket, the new 180* fit right in, no problems. I haven't noticed much of a difference in engine temp or performance. If anything a very minor difference. It can't hurt tho so its worth the $7 that they cost at Autozone. Sorry you "ordered" one from Speedtweaks, you were ripped off buddy. This is a common shelf part at your local store.
