hey guys, whats up. i just installed my nx bottle heater (bought used) and i am curious as to how long it takes the bottle to reach 900 psi on like a 50 degree day? there is a warning printed on the bottle heater saying 'do not touch, may reach 450 degrees' but it was only slightly warmer than before when i touched it 2 minutes after turning it on..is this normal?? just lemme know, thanx!

I also have NX Heater, Did you get the relay and pressure transducer? or are you just wiring it up direct. If you are wiring it up direct (no no) make sure your wires are of sufficent gauge you may need to go larger. Otherwise it does take a while to warm up, and when it does it will burn your hand (may take 10min or more). BTW 1100psi is best (hits harder and efectively increases hp gain) 900 is just what NX says is operating pressure. I have run as much as 1250psi in bottle but have seen best results at 1100psi.

Timid is exactly right with his advice on bottle pressure. I had an NX kit on my Neon, and with an 1100 psi bottle pressure, it definately hit harder.

My NX GenX-2 instructions said the heater is supposed to shut off at approx 1050psi. So far it seems to work really well and shut off right around that pressure.

yea, i did touch it...if that bottle heater were able to reach 450 degrees in 10 seconds, i probably wouldve peed all over myself regardless...so i dont think it was that critical of a decision. thank you for your sarcasm though, it was duly noted.
