ok heres the deal . my friend has a 2001 or 2002 chevy xtra cab pickup 2wd with the 4.8 liter. he says he wants to race me.he has no mods at all and im sure about that. we have a very straight country road near us and it is lightly traveled. i told him id race but im not gonna get crazy and race till 100 or anything , we agreed on racing till about 80. my truck is a 2001 cc r/t with k&n intake and 3923 autolites. if i race im just gonna floor it from a stop , i only get about 10 to 15 feet of tire spin, he said he will do the same and his truck doesnt spin at all, his truck makes 275 horses and 285 lb-ft of torque and i assume you all know what mine makes less in horses than his and more in torque. what im basically asking is should i be worried at all??
thanks for any replies , itll be my first race in the r/t.

Don't just floor it, give it part throttle till you get rolling then floor it. I would hate for you to give him any advantage by spinning your tires. Do you know what the surface of the road is like where you are racing? Maybe go out there on your own and try a few practice launches. Let us know how it turns out. As a matter of fact, as part of the deal, when he looses have him post his loss at fullsizechevy.com in the rev it up section. They are always posting Dodge kills and talking how slow we are, ain't that right Ginther? I know Ginther has posted to me over there.
