 Subject: Air ram hoods vs. cowl hood

I'm looking at getting a new hood for my dak and want to see if anyone knows what is better a steel cowl induction hood or a keystone fiberglass single scoop with the ram air kit? This question is for performance not looks

You're not really going to notice much of a performance difference with either model aside from any weight reduction they might offer. The bonus of the cowl hood is to allow more space for a bigger air cleaner such as the 14x3 K&N or to vent engine bay heat out of the cowl. The Ram Air hoods suck in air that's a bit cooler than the stagnant air in the engine bay, but it's worth only a couple of horsepower at most.
IMHO you should choose a hood based on the way you like how it looks first - if it happens to give a little performance bonus as well then it's just icing on the cake.

The reflexxtion hood looks good, but it's steel
and the cowl is not functional. The Elite
Custom's hood is carbon fiber, so it's light
weight and has a funtional cowl induction
intake system, that was designed by Bruce at
F/B throttle bodies.
