I'm not sure what model it was, its hard to tell when you so far in front HAHAHA. But it did sound like a performance engine, it reved hard loud.

There was a riced out integra (big ass wing, clear lights, exhaust tip as big as a cannon, etc) on the way home from work last night. I wanted to see if he would bite but never got the chance. Maybe next time

Riced out integras ... I hate those cars. Lots of asians around here with those things. I was talking with a kid who had one one time about what i was going to do to my truck. He was surprised i was customizing it and said it was an "asian thing" to customize your car. Of course he thinks that an intake and big exhaust will have a 30 horsepower increase and the uselesse oversized wing helps the car handle better. I didn't have the time to tell him that his car was fwd so that even if the wing miraculously does what it's supposed to it'll just slow it down. I've driven my girlfriend's integra for a long time now. What is it that people find so great about them?

The funny thing is that I'm Asian. I was born in utah, parents born in california. The search for more power on not asian thing. In "general" its a male thing.(General is in quotes because I know that there are females who like it too) Just the way some one does it can be considered asian, white, hispanic, etc. style. I have been given crap for years for driving a Jeep but when it snows, who do they call, when thay have to move, who do they call, when they can't get there ricer in the drive way and need to get some metal plate to make a ramp, who do they call! With my new 5.9L GC I will be nice to put them in there place.. well some of them anyways.

[You race what you brung!]If you own an Import you modify it and race it. My first modified vechile was a Toyota. I added tripple valve springs and a huge cam and with the rest of the engine stock it turned 9500 Rpms with out valve float. Lets see a domestic engine do that with out alot of modifications.

Lets see an import produce 250+ and 350+ Lb ot TQ at half that RPM. V8 can be geared different to get the same and more RPM's at the tires where as a 4 cyle would stall trying to turn our kind of gear ratio in our transmissions.

Lets face it! With enough money you can make almost anything fast. Popular Mechanics did a story on a Honda Civc that they built that would do 8's IN THE 1\4 MILE. Thats fast for a saki bomber!!!

Hey JT I hear that little twin turbo RX7 motor was one of the least dependable motors made. Apparently they were often ruined after 20,000-30,000 miles. No point in having a motor that has to be replaced every couple years if that. I beleive it's true because that model of RX7 is a seldom seen sight. I use to see one every couple days back when that car was produced but haven't seen one now in several months. I figure I am only about 25-30 HP short of that with an N/A engine that will be around for years and years so am pretty happy. Lets see what happens when my 4.7 is no longer an N/A motor. 350+ HP from an SC alone mabye?? No baby motor will perk up that easily.

where to start? first off mazda rotory motors were given that bad rap by our own big three (dodge gm ford) wonder why? how about a motor that will run 8000 rpm all day without a problem. yes the early ones had reliability problems but the twin turbo could take alot of abuse, i have over 130,000 very hard miles on mine. the only thing that will kill a rotary is to overheat it, even 1 time! dont get me wrong i would not trade my dak for anything, well maybe a viper. but to here people say false things about stuff they really dont know anything about and you can figure out what happend to the rotary. for a car that priced itself out of production its amazing how much in demand they are now, enough that mazda is bringing the rotary back to the states. check out a few web sites and you will be amazed at these "little unreliable" motors. i would tell you more but with my typing speed i just wasted 1/2 an hour!

Just an observation Jeffster. Henry fords first race care to go faster than 120 mph with a gasoline powered engine was a 900 cubic inch 4 cylinder. The V8 is a packageing compromise. The whole idea of a V engine is a solution to produceing cars with shorter hoods. The straight engine 4,6,8.....is a much better design from an enginiering stand point. A straight engine will produce it's torque at a much lower rpm and has a flater power band. They have less block flex if designed right and will greatly out last v configuration engines. The engines that tend to last the longest that I have experince with are the slant 6 by Chrysler and the Toyota 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders straight inline designs. The only people that I can think of that were able to muck up the straight six was chevy. Lets just hope that Chevy's new straight six holds up to all the hype. Do not confuse engine configuration with cubic inchs of displacement. The 4.7 liter that most of us love so much in our quad cabs produces less hp and torque then it's Toyota conter part of roughly equal displacement. Compare the 3 liter v6 that the Ford Ranger origanaly had in it to toyotas 3 liter straight 6 that the Supra and celica used in both non-turbo and turbo formats and it is currently being used in the Lexus IS300. Compare engines of the similar displacement. P.S.(Trivia) I was reading my 2001 Service Manuals for the Dak's and the 4.7 has moly coated pistons!

I'm with jeffster. I may not know too much about motors but its great when I can hear some good figures like that about our domestic motors, especially the V8's. It may just be personal and I know they hold some advatages, but I HATE those damn imports truck or car!!!!

I have alot of friends who are ricers. I think at least 4-5 of them drive RX-7s. They are fast and make amazing power for such small displacement. Having said that, yes they are not very reliable. My buddies RX-7s are always in the shop (I'm sure doing perfomrance mods and runing them hard does not help).

Sandman. What are molly coated pistons??

Andrew I will never give up the roar of a V8 with that feeling of male agression for anything. You just get a big grin on your face everytime you pound on the gas and hear tha WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA sound.

Besides many of the riced out vehicles are extremly well tuned machinces using turbo's and intercoolers etc etc etc. I can beat most of them with pure naturally aspirated power. V8's are so easily moded and you acheive huge gains very quickly. Wait till we strat using boost on our engines to make things really unfair.

Not to step on sandmans feet or anything but the molly coating is a dry lubricant and I cant exactly remember what the full name is but they're just called molly for short. They put that stuff on some bullets and if its not "baked" on, it rubs off quite easily, at least on bullets anyway. It looks almost black in color too.

Yeah you guys must be proud when your stock 250hp 300lb tq V8 can beat a stock 170hp 128lb tq 4 cyl like a GS-R, congratulations to you. If integras and civics came with that type of power(which is very hard and expensive to get it to 250hp) we would kick your ass too. We dont care if we beat or lose to you truck owners cause we know what engine class we belong in and maybe you should learn too. My best friend has a Dakota, i think it is a really nice fast truck and we respect each others vehicals, and we dont brag about who beats who. How about i take my riced out integra against your dakota on a road course where you actually have to turn and then we will see just who wins. I am sorry if this offends any of you but it angers me when people think they are hot sh!t when they beat a ricer even though they out horse them by 100hp and even more torque, not to mention the rear wheel drive aspect.

Hey ricer, I give you one thing your right about us having more hp and torque. BUT remember one thing a Dakota or any truck weighs MORE than your freakin ricer. More hp and torque helps BUT when u figure in the weight aspect, Things get more even. And fact remains same , you still loose.
