I found this link to the SS beating the R/T in the Delphi R/T forum. It was me, I am the R/T that got beat. I was so mad and wanted to trade my truck in today because I got beat by a stock chevy. I am not saying who I am because I don't want it to get back to the other forum, but I am modded with most of the bolt ons. It went down pretty much how he said, but I would say I got beat by 3 and 1/2 truck lenths. Sorry I didn't represent R/Ts very well, again, sorry guys.

Well my sister boy freind has a 1969 z28 4 spd camaro when he drives it its a low 14 high 13s. But when she drives it. I could beat her with my 3.7 sixer dak 4 wheel drive. (And have to pruve the point to jack her boyfreind) So we will survive your discrace. And live for another race

I'm surprised so many people are getting bent out of shape over this whole silly thread. If you read the facts from even their own owners posting feedback on the SS forum, the average SS only runs mid 15's. Of course if you get one of those freak trucks that were built right with a good driver at a sea level track you'll see a gain of a few tenths, but those gains will typically be shared by anybody else in the area as well.

You might see an isolated race where one or the other driver doesn't know how to launch, was slow on the uptake in a street race, etc. but for the most part the SS is not any faster than an R/T and it is silly to even remotely consider them competition when it takes a new powerplant from Chevy and $45,000+ just to match the old pushrod R/T.

I agree Sincity... A week after I got my '00 QC 4.7 (no mods yet), I got beat by a guy in a late 90's 4x4 Chevy with mudders.

It was about 30 romp, he hit it first and got a jump on me. As I was starting to gain he let off and eventually acted as if he humiliated me. And of course turned off before I could get him to run me again. Im sure he tells his buddies he won fair and square.

You gotta take into acount that some guys on the street that think their in a top fuel dragster will call it a kill even if they clearly didnt race a fair race. And once they call a win they bolt. You know who you are.

Justin, I am the R/T owner. I didn't see his post till I followed the link. I was on the Delphi R/T board when I saw the link here( I have never visited this board before). I thought to myself, what are the odds it's the same guy? After reading the race account and where it took place I knew it was the guy I raced.
Sorry, I'm going back to the R/T board.

Hey Dodge guys, I just gotta tell you about what happened to me and my chevy the other day. I was driving through town when I rolled up to a stop light and found myself next to a RT. I revved a little bit at the light, we both took off and the RT kicked my ass. I feel very stupid for buying a SS when I could have gotten an RT for less. I too have never even visited this board before.

I don't know what to say, other then it happened to me again.

This time, it was a stock looking Dakota QC, with a 3.9 V6! I stopped at a light, shot a few revs at the Dak, and the race was on. The Dak pulled ahead, and never lost ground. L

ater, the owner of the Dak pulled over, and I pulled in behind him. He opened his hood, and there it was, a bone stock 3.9, backed up by an automatic, and 3.55 gears. I feel terrible, GM really screwed its customers over on this one.

You losers should roll down your windows (or let the pwr window motors do it for the guys with R/Ts) and try to communicate with the "opponent" next to you. Why try to hide whats gonna happen.
If its lopsided and you know you can win, why not pull out some benjamins and have them go down a side street with you and settle it?
Im never in a hurry to get anywhere when a sucka rolls up to me at a light trying to get it on. Pulling out a few hundys usually quells the noise.

Try this next time...DONT RACE. Let them run their stupid mouths all they want. Call them to the carpet if you got the goods!
There is a phrase in the "hood" for this..its called "Okie doke"...lol
