Hey guys,
I have a 1999 Dakota 5.2 4x4 and i want to put a sinlge in/ dual out Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 or 50 series muffler on it. My question is, do i need a center inlet or offset inlet muffler? i made a cardboard templete using the measurements that Flowmaster gives (9.75"W x 13"L for the 40 series & 9.75"W x 17"L for the 50 series) and it looks close both ways. What have you guys used?

also, my plan is to have dual tailpipes exiting under the bumper, if that makes a difference.

Thanks alot,
John

and yes, i did search for this, but i couldnt find anything, so if its been asked before, sorry!

i would go with the center inlet, but why dual out, your exhaust gas is just gonna fight in the muffler for which pipe to go out........me i use the flow 10 series, one chamber race muffler, 2.5 center in/out and a turndown after the muffler..........but if you don't want VERY VERY loud, don't do that......

Thanks, I want the dual out because I have to have dual tips under the bumper, IMO that is badass! Yeah, a 10 series would drive me insane on the highway, i think im going to go with a 50 series.

Im not looking to gain any power from this muffler, i just want sound to hear while im driving. Do you think i will loose any low-end power with this set-up?

yeah 50 series will give a nice rumble w/out being a headache, me i just like to piss people off when i drive, so i put the 10 series on all my vehicles w/v8's, and surprisingly they actually still help hp&tq, even though they are only 6 inches long and have just 1 baffle in them.......
